Don't need no set pieces or auto anything here. The characters are being manipulated in a wide open space to do what the player wants at any given moment. At the very least amazing relative to the stiff weirdness that comes from SA2 on. Within the limits of SA2, Unleashed, etc you can do things that eventually feel good when you are on the games "track" but even without playing this I can just tell Sonic, Tails and Knuckles feel amazing. Thats what these demos are and I applaud this and Utopia and the others for just making Sonic and the gang feel good.

You think about those Miyamoto interviews with him playing Mario 64 or Breath of the Wild during production and it's always about him just toying around with the movement, flipping and endlessly climbing tress not looking for the goal or what ever. It's a joy just to play around like that and see what you could do outside any given levels primary objective. When Mario 64 and Odyssey first hit all anyone could talk about was how fun it was just to eF around with Mario and see how he moves in the 3D space. Every time one of these comes out the avalanche of "no real stages" comes out and I figure that is just the wrong mindset with these things.
